A Day At ECP

Decided to take the day off to go down to ECP with some of the kids from SPS 6A, 2004. Met them at Woodlands before taking the 1-h bus journey to our destination. Had some problems locating the underpass leading to the beach as it had been quite some time since I was last there with another group of students. Somehow managed to smell my way to the sea and immediately headed for the bicycle rental shop. Got ourself a bike each and Lewis who had claimed to be a non-cyclist, had actually been pulling our legs. Took a short but breezy ride to Bedok Jetty to look at some of the anglers' catch and took some shots of ourselves.

Then we headed to a nearby hawker centre for a drink. The kids had their drinks while I licked the ice from the table. (I prefer ice to gassy drinks) Continued with the ride upwards till we reached Sparks Adventure Centre before heading back. The whole ride lasted only 1h 40 min, 20 min short of the 2h rental. Couldn't decide what to do next, whether to bowl or to play pool. Finally ended up doing none of the above and decided to dine at McDonald instead.

The kids at McDonald

After filling our tummy, went back to the beach where the kids played with the sand and wrote messages on it. Next they threw pebbles and waded in the water while I sat watching from a distant being the caretaker for their belongings. Stayed till about 5.30pm when we took a slow walk to the food centre at Parkway Parade for another round of food and drinks before heading home. Had an enjoyable day at the park and was grateful to the kids for their company. Hope to have more of such outing so as to release my pressure. Anyone interested in another outing with me?
